Is how you could describe our courtship. We ended up finding each other on Facebook Dating (not to be confused with Facebook Marketplace). We were intentional about dating for the purpose of finding our forever partner and honoring Christ in the meantime. We felt and saw unique connections between the two of us and sought counseling with pastors and Rick's counselor. We probed and asked the hard questions, did the travel and projects including a Lego kit of all things. These activities continued to connect us and propel us towards each other. Rick proposed with a party and fireworks and Susan of course said yes (she knows a good one when she see him). We are so grateful to count everyone who participates with us as dear friends and family. We cannot do this life without you. When asked about how we navigate the distance, we say yes. Yes, we love Grandville and ResLife and Susan's home and community. Yes, we love Rick's new property, and family and church and quaint community. It won't always be easy, but we believe that adding to each other in the richness of our lives rather than choosing one over the other is worth it.
